Mid Week Service

Some go to church on holidays only, some might go every once and awhile; I'm proud of me for going the past few Sundays and tonight! So here is a recap for the ones that might need this:

Pastor Sharon Crank "When I Get Through This" Luke 22:31-32

"Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to have you, to sift you like wheat, but I have pleaded in prayer for you that your faith should not completely fail."

Some of us have gone through the same battles and the same struggles just at different intensities. If you are going through a tough time in your life you need to understand that GOD "Must be up to something!" These trials are to help us draw closer to him and further away from the worldly things; we go through these things to push us to the next dimension not the next level. The difference is the next level is just going from one floor to the another, staying in the same place but when you are taken to the next dimension then you are pushed out of where you are thus you are in a different place! We want to be taken to the next dimension, so STAY FAITHFUL and HOLD ONTO YOUR FAITH!

Satan wants to 'sift' (shake, strain and seperate one substance from another) us from GOD; this is his only goal in life! Satan wants us to be disloyal to GOD, he wants us to prove that we are fake and discredit GOD by using us. We need to refer to 1 Peter 5:8 "Be careful- watch out for attacks from Satan, your great enemy. He prowls around like a hungry, roaring lion, looking for some victim to tear apart." And remember that GOD has already 'pleaded in prayer for you that your faith should not completely fail!' So remember that despite anything and everything you need to TRUST IN GOD!

Be blessed and remember that what you are going through now does not represent your future! ;-)♥ ♥

How Much Water Should I Drink Daily?

Conventional wisdom has held for years that you should drink eight 8 ounce glasses of water daily. Especially if you are trying to lose weight, it is said, drinking the optimum amount of water daily curbs your appetite and helps your system shed the fat. If you are active in sports, or live in a hot climate, you should add more water to your daily drinking quota.
The latest new conventional wisdom from the field of sports medicine holds that you should drink daily half your body weight in ounces of water. That is, if you weight 120 pounds, you should drink 60 ounces of water every day, or seven and a half cups. If you weight 180 pounds, you should drink 90 ounces of water daily, or eleven cups and another few sips.

What happens if you don't floss?

If you do not floss and allow plaque to remain in between teeth it eventually hardens into a substance known as tartar. Unlike plaque which can be easily removed by brushing, tartar can only be removed by your dentist.

Over time, levels of more dangerous types of bacteria build up within tartar. Mean and vengeful, these bacteria produce toxins which irritate and inflame the gums. This condition is known as gingivitis. If gingivitis is left untreated it can progress to periodontal disease - a condition where bacteria and their toxins invade not only the gums but also the bones and the structures supporting the teeth. This can lead to bone loss, loose teeth, and teeth which fall out.

Romance- Exhausted the possibilities!?

The other night ended up being a 'girls night' as it must of been a dedication to every love movie Sanaa Lathan has made; first up "Something New" and then "The Best Man." As we sat there watching we noticed that in the first movie they were in the bedroom with seemed like a million candles lit and he was painting her toe nails and in the second they were in the tub, rose petals filled their bath, candles were lit as well and it seemed like the 'Quiet Storm' was playing in the background!?

Where did these days go? Or are they still there and me and my girls are missing it? Or is this just what goes on in the 'movies'? We hear "you watch to much t.v" alot but is it wrong to expect to have 'some romance' in our lives?

"Love Jones"
they had a 'hot topic' about romance and the verdict Darius Lovehall (aka Larenz Tate), came up with: "ROMANCE...is about the possibility of the thing. From the time when you first meet some fine ass woman... To the time you make love to her. From the time you first propose to her. To the time you say I do. When people who have been together for a long time say that the romance is dead....nuh uh......they just EXHAUSTED THE POSSIBILITIES!"

Lesson Learned Part 1

Yeah so you want to talk about a blower... Have you ever done something and knew that this is not right, yeah that was me about 15 minutes ago.

I had a crack in my windshield and was so excited when I found the windshield at a junk yard for $120, though I talked them down to $100. I purchased it and wondered "Who is going to install it?" the man offered to call a mobile service for installation it would cost $75. After minutes of deliberation me and my cousin thought Naw we will let the guy working on my car do it (I am paying him to work on it, I'm sure he won't mind adding that to the list of repairs). So we carefully install it in my trunk with the seats in the back down, drive less than five minutes to my house open the trunk...

And I hear it while I am leaving a message on the phone, what I truly do not want to hear. . . a pop! I look back and to my surprise I see four to five lines running from top to bottom, all I could think was are you serious! WOW, what a blower. . . just drop $100 on the ground and walk away because that was basically what I did.

Lesson Learned- If you are offered an additional service and it involves any type of glass just pay whatever it is to get that added service done! Learn from my mistakes please!

Will Smith's Done It Again!

Who would ever think that he would be flying around in the air with a bottle in his hand and cussin on screen?! "The People's Choice" If you have not gone to go see this one then you are a little too late. . .

Will Smith stars as Hancock, a disgruntled, conflicted, sarcastic and misunderstood superhero whose well-intentioned heroics might get the job done and save countless lives, but always seem to leave jaw-dropping damage in their wake.

Movie-goers bought an estimated $66 million in tickets to the Sony movie, which also stars Charlize Theron, in its first weekend. Since it hit U.S. theaters Tuesday (July 1) evening, it banked $107,321,000.

Oh and don't forget to bring some tissue cause this one might leave you a lil' emotional at the end ;-)

Review: 3 out of 4 stars
Rated: PG-13 for some intense sequences of sci-fi action and violence, language
Cast: Will Smith, Jason Bateman, Charlize Theron, Jae Head

"A Milli Hot or Not BEFORE Wayne?"

"A Milli" produced by Bangladesh (check out his Myspace page); I remember the first time that I heard the song (and it wasn't on the radio) and I wondered when it was going to end, the repetition was nerve racking and I wondered, "Is this the way the song is really going to sound?" Fortunately for the masses my opinion doesn't matter much because everyone loves the song (and I must admit it grew on me). But I'm wondering do they love the song because of Wayne and his undeniable swag, the lyrics he spits on the track, or is it because of the beat?

Cause I'm trying to understand if anyone realizes that the beat is not hot??? The song is hot because Wayne is on it (imagine that), the beat retains some of that energy, but without Wayne, the beat would not be all that everyone is making it out to be!

You know how beats sometimes sit around and wait for the right owner well this is one of those beats and thank goodness it did because before Wayne, when it was on Bangladesh's group, everybody hated it!! So its amazing that its getting all of this hype now. . .

The music industry its hilarious some of the same artists who despise the new trend of ultra-simplicity in southern production and who who hated on snap music are embracing what might be the simplest beat ever released (and I'm not saying that simple is bad, I'm just trying to make a point).

He has been noted for having produced and maybe even brought back Kelis with "Bossy," has worked with Ludacris on "What's Yo Fantasy?" Petey Pablo's "Vibrate," and also 8Ball and MJG "Don't Make Me." And lets not forget his other 2008 joint "Talking Out The Side of Your Neck" by Dem Franchize Boyz (possibly the biggest flop of the summer). Which I wonder if we had heard Wayne on that beat first would it have been the smash that a milli is?

Here is a brief excerpt from Bangladesh explaining the track which by the way he never even sat down with Wayne to do, Shanell (singer and current member of "The Girls Club") slipped the track to Wayne.
"He switched it up and tried to make it “ill.” If that was somebody else, it wouldn’t be on the radio. They just f*ck with Wayne regardless. That right there makes me like that sh*t, because it’s against the grain and it’s working. That sh*t’s no format. A n*gg* went in, free styled, and that sh*t’s all over the radio. And it’s the hottest beat in hip-hop right now. Every time I turn on Rap City, they in the booth rapping to the beat," Bangladesh. The Rhapsody: Behind The Carter III

So the question behind the post is. . . What do you think? I'm truly interested; do you like the beat or do you only bob your head to the track cause of Wayne?

Your 'Wanted' at the movies. . . A Must See

Wanted is a 2008 action film loosely based on the comic book miniseries Wanted by Mark Millar. The film is directed by Timur Bekmambetov and stars James McAvoy, Morgan Freeman, Thomas Kretschmann, Konstantin Khabensky and Angelina Jolie. Production began in April 2007. Wanted was released on June 27, 2008 in the US.
In its opening weekend, Wanted grossed $50.9 million in 3,175 theaters in the United States and Canada, ranking #2 at the box office and averaged an estimated $16,100 per theater, the $50.9 million opening exceeded the analysts projections of $30-$35 million opening weekend! Wanted grossed more in its opening weekend than any previous live-action film starring Angelina Jolie. It has grossed a total of $83,177,985 worldwide so far.

So with all of that said and done I loved it! I was on the edge of my seat eating popcorn and raisinets (if you have not tried it, it is the BEST) wondering what was going to happen next. It was a good mix of characters and action, it was like The Matrix meets The Transporter meets Mission Impossible meets. . .
It's a must see and maybe more than once! :-)

Thanks Jennifer Hudson and "Sex in the City!"

Now maybe I'm a little late but recently while watching "Sex in the City" the movie Jennifer Hudson mentioned that her fabulous 'Louis' was a rental, mental note to self.
I came home to Google 'fashionable handbags' and the first site that I saw was Bag Borrow or Steal.

I'm in LOVE! Now I honestly doubt that I will be 'renting' a handbag a week but this site definitely has a good thing going on here. Then again maybe I will, I hate to let everyone in on the secrets of being 'Fabulous' but why not! It's easy all you have to do:

1. Browse for a handbag, jewelry or sunglasses (or all three!) that you love, then click "Borrow".
2. Keep it as long as you wish. A week! A month!
3. Change your look as often as you want. Returns are easy and return shipping is FREE!

Guaranteed authentic designer products. (Including Couture and Vintage!)

From Prada, Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Coach, and more. (Including sought-after Couture and rare Vintage pieces too.)

No knock-offs here. Everything is certified authentic! Become a member for like $10 a month, 3 months for $20 and a year for $60. . . check out the membership benefits on the site.

Disclaimer: Please only rent or borrow a bag if you can HONESTLY afford to meaning I get it swap out bags monthly etc. but please DON'T go broke doing this! If your renting a handbag instead of paying your car note, or if you are renting instead of buying groceries (for your home hopefully if you are over 30) then your PRIORITIES are messed up and I have NO PROBLEM TELLING YOU! ;-)

Tha "Carter 3" Expected To Sell Near a Millie

I'm not normally one to watch the numbers or the sales of albums but I have been quiet intrigued by the sales of the "Carter III" since it was leaked about a week ago and many people need not buy the real c.d. As I finished a recent blog on Usher I wondered in comparison (though there is NO comparison Wayne(rapper) to Usher(R&B dude) how well this album would do versus that one!? Since then I found out that Usher's "Here I Stand" sold 433,000 units in his first week out (versus "Confessions" 1 million) and drum roll please. . .

Weezy sold 437,000 units in his first day! June 10, 2008 he sold 423,000 unitsFox News, wow! Thanks to all the fans that regardless of the bootleg went to the stores, bought it on I-Tunes, ordered it on-line etc. For all the haters that thought Weezy would only sell 180,000 the first week I guess you can pick your jaws up from off the floor! Pat Monaco, exec VP of sales for the Universal Motown Republic Group reports "The sales the first few hours were exceeding the rate that the Kanye's album sold a year ago." An he estimates the disc will sell between 850,000 and 950,000 by the end of its first week. The album has already gone Gold and today is only it's second day!

For more info on the making of the c.d check out this article on The Rhapsody"Behind the Carter"

Last year's first-week top-seller was from Kanye West, who sold 957,000 copies of "Graduation."

First Week Units Sold 2008:
Nine Inch Nails 800,000 (I know this is a whole different ball game, but wow!)
Mariah Carey 463,000 (ranked largest sales first week for 08')
Usher 433,000
Danity Kane 236,000
Rick Ross 198,375
Janet Jackson 181,000
Snoop 137,000
Erykah Badu 124,000
Ashanti 86,200
Webbie 72,000
Fat Joe 46,125
Shawty Lo 31,000
Prodigy 12,962
Lil Flip 5,347
Pete Rock 3,806
Pimp C 2,729
Joe Budden 1,112 (which shows you that c.d's aren't that easy to sell, lol!)

U Bring Me . . . Joi

U Bring Me . . . Joi

It's a lot for some people to digest but when you are named you have to fully be able to live up to your name. I'm thankfull that JOY, means a feeling of happiness because that is what everyday of my life I try to do; bring forth happiness.

Through modeling and printwork I have found a form of art that I have grown to love! There is so much more to a model than just beauty and once you realize that what we do is more than just trying to give someone something to look at then you have started our journey. . .
We try to enlighten, educate, make you think, make you laugh and of course entice you to want to see more. Modeling has given me a freedom to express myself and I am thankfull to it and to all the photographers and make up artist that I have worked with to help that expression.

I hope you en"joi"
